Friday

Fri-Yay!

Linking up with Amanda, and Cup of Tea!

I hope you all have had a lovely week. I have no complaints. I am getting a taste of my soon to be normal work life and I have learned that night shift is no joke. So far I have had a wonderful experience on my unit and I am looking forward to my upcoming hours. I am also looking forward to some warmer weather! Once again, we got snow! Thankfully it was not near the amount of snow we had a few weeks ago, but I know there are places close by where people have been enjoying their snow days.

Enough chit chat. Lets get down to the fun stuff!

I am a sucker for pretty little trinkets. That is why I am loving this adorable little tray. I love jewelry trays and always have to stop myself from buying them.

If you haven't heard of Reese Witherspoon's line Draper James then you are in luck! I am about to introduce you. While I am told myself that I cannot buy anything, let me introduce you to my favorite things! I am a sucker for cute dresses and I literally love every single Draper James dress. Here are my favorites: 1/2/3. I think the sale ended last night but dress 3 was on super sale. I would keep an eye out for these Lucky You sales in the future because the prices were fabulous.
P.s. Mom if you are reading this...I love dress number 1 ;)
This Hold Your Horses hat. It is currently sold out because it was on mega sale, but I love it!
I missed out on these pajamas as well but they are oh so cute so I wanted to share them.

Hi my name is Hanna, I am a caffeine addict and this is how I survive the day/night. In an effort to save my poor bank account from my Starbuck's addiction, I started making my Chai Tea Latte's at home. It's simple! All you need is this Chai Tea Concentrate, a frother, like this one, and your favorite milk or milk substitute. I use Almond Milk with mine.

And of course my Celsius water in the Cola flavor.

I'm hesitant to even post this because I am not sure if we can get it in the US, but this mascara is absolutely fabulous. My friend in Germany sent it to me in my Christmas package and I am in love! Seriously, German makeup is awesome and I cannot get enough of it. Even their drugstore brands are such good quality and the majority of them are cruelty free.
*Note: I can't find it in the US :'(

I have been all about skincare and face masks recently. I received this one for Christmas and I really love it. It smells so nice (honey/lavender) but not overpowering and it thickens into this wonderful paste.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Hooray Friday

Linking up with Amanda

The weeks just keep flying by and as always I have some favorites/things I love to share with you this Friday.

I snagged a few items from the Lila P sale including this top and a sweater that I can no longer find on the website. But they still have some great sweaters on sale! I bought the t-shirt because I have one and it goes with pretty much anything. Plus who doesn't love a cute flowy t-shirt?

Recently received this band for my Apple Watch and I am loving it. Plus the price range doesn't hurt!

Need an upbeat song? Give this one a listen. I enjoy listening to this one when I work out.

I made this recipe this week and I love it so much. It's versatile so I didn't get bored eating it multiple days in a row. Seriously, give this one a go! Plus it can go in the CrockPot or Instant Pot (which I need to get!)

These have been my go to sweet treat this week. If you haven't heard of Sugarfina then I am sorry that I am the one who is leading you down the path of darkness. You can pick and choose in order to make your own bento boxes and I was a lucky girl and received two for Christmas and have happily been eating my way through them.

And the chocolate is good as well! So many options, so little time.

Giphy's to explain my week!

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick:Review

I have read and watched countless reviews about Urban Decay's Vice Lipstick, but just hadn't gotten around to get any because I have too many lip products to begin with and I told myself it was time to save some money.
Luckily, I received a boat load of the Vice Lipstick's for Christmas! Disclaimer, a few of these lipstick's are sold out, but plenty are still available and there is a huge color line to choose from so I don't think you'll be too disappointed.

The lipstick's I received for Christmas come from the Urban Decay Vault Volume IV and two of the three Jean-Michael Basquiat lipstick's.

L to R: Abstract and Epigram

From the Naked Vault Volume IV

L to R: Naked (cream), 1993 (comfort matte), Ms. Mia Wallace (cream)

L to R: Vanished (sheer), Backtalk (comfort matte), 714 (mega matte)

L to R: Rapture (cream), Conspiracy (metallized), Blackmail (comfort matte)

The colors range in finish from mega matte, cream, sheer, metallized, and comfort matte and every single one of them are so smooth and creamy! I wore Backtalk recently because I find that some matte lipsticks can be drying and I had no problems with this one! It wore extremely well and the color faded nicely. All the colors are beautiful and right up my alley. I can't wait to wear all of them, but I had to share with you all how impressed I was with the swatches! They are opaque and so silky smooth.

The one I thought I wouldn't wear at all is actually one of my favorites - Vanished. It does wear off quickly when worn alone but it gives such a pretty sheen to the lips and it looks gorgeous over a lip liner! I don't know if it was just a fluke, but the Vanished I have is slightly loose it it's bullet and moves every time I use it. None of the other Vice lipsticks I have does that. I may repot it but for now I just wanted to share and see if anyone else has this color and has experienced this problem.

Do ignore my grown out nail. I was holding on as long as I could before having them removed again for school.

The Urban Decay Vice Lipstick's retail for $17 a piece and they are some of the most comfortable lipstick's I have worn. They do wear off like a traditional lipstick so if you are wanting longevity these are not it. If you want a lipstick that comes in a multitude of colors, is opaque, and extremely comfortable to wear - this is it!

Back To School Nursing Essentials

This upcoming semester is my 4th and final semester of nursing school. Along the way I found some items that I cannot live without!

A Good Stethoscope.
If there's one thing I've learned during nursing school is that a good quality stethoscope definitely makes a difference when it comes to what you can hear and how well you can hear it. In general, the majority of my class has a Littmann Stethoscope. I myself have a Littmann and I have nothing bad to say about it. Plus they come in a variety of colors so you can really find something that suits you! To give you an idea of how well made Littmann Stethoscope's are, my parent's still have their original Littmann's!

I have the Littmann Caridology III and now there is a version IV available. Another popular choice in my class is the Littmann Classic.

Comfortable Shoes.
I cannot stress this enough! I cannot tell you how many times classmates have complained about their feet hurting. And yes, when you stand for so long your feet are going to ache some but a good pair of shoes make it so much more bearable. I started with the Athena Klog's and while those have been with me the longest, they started to hurt my toes. So I turned to another pair of ugly shoes, the Brook's Addiction Walker and oh boy are they ugly. I assure you they look better with scrub pants on, but ugliness aside, they give me such wonderful arch support and are so comfortable!

Oh and did I mention that they are leather? Which means no matter what ends up on your shoes you can just wipe it off and don't have to worry about it getting through any mesh pores.

A Good Bag to Carry All of Your Junk Stuff.
Yep, I am a bag lady. I throw everything in my clinical bag - EVERYTHING! You never know what you are going to need when you are there. My favorite bag is the Scout Pocket Rocket

1) This bag is big enough to fit all of my stuff
2) The pockets are everything! I shove tape, pens, scissors, and my stethoscope in the pockets. Yes, the pockets are long enough to nicely fit your stethoscope without having to worry about it falling out. And it comes in such pretty patterns.

This thing is amazing. When I started nursing school they suggested that you buy a clipboard; many of us didn't. The reason being is that they are clunky and there is no where to place them or store them. I like being organized and hated shoving my papers in my pockets, but such was life. But then my eyes were opened by a fellow classmate who came walking into clinical one morning with one of these babies.  Once I saw that this thing folds and fits in your scrub pocket I was sold and promptly went home to order my own. They do come in many different editions so make sure you order the one that is applicable to you!

Oh and it comes with those stickers already applied which are wonderful little reminders that you can look at quickly if you need help!

A Good Pocket Guide.
Now this will vary depending on what you want/like. I have a drug pocket book and the NP Pocket Nursing, which is my new baby. I love this little reference book. Sometimes it's hard to get to a computer or you need a quick refresher and don't want to spend time logging in and going through multiple pages to get what you want - Que. this little bad boy.

P.s. it's on sale now and customizable!

Other items that you may enjoy during school or your time spent working are cheap pens - because we lose them, people take them, or they get left in or trashed in isolation rooms. You can find non-retractable one's for cheaper, but I prefer mine be retractable.

A good pair of compression socks if you choose to wear them. I am all about my ProCompression socks.

A good lunch box that suits you. There are so many to choose from. In fact, I need to find something that works a bit better because I currently tote two around. One is a Scout bag that I love to throw all my snacks in and the other is this lunchbox that I love because I meal prep and bring my own meals.

Not essential, but a cute badge reel. I love badge reel's and literally want a collection of them. You can find some adorable one's on Etsy! Just type in Badge Reel and go from there!

Friday

Hey There Friday

Linking up with Amanda, Cup of Tea, and A Little Bit of Everything to bring you some goodies from this week.

If you are an animal lover then you need these in your life! I will be ordering a few pairs ASAP.
You can custom print your dog onto socks! How much better could life get? Feeling down that day? Just take a peak at your sweet pooch's face on your socks!
If dog's aren't enough for you, there is an option to do your cat or you can put yourself or another human being on them!

My friend just received her pair and they turned out so good! Go to Pup Socks to order your own pair.

We all know that music makes my world go round so please enjoy my current on repeat song that puts me in a good mood on good and bad days.

Life gets hectic and everyone deserves to take a little breather. With the start of the semester looming over my head and because I have tight hips and hamstrings that are desperate need of help I have been stretching/doing a small yoga routine for 10 minutes in the morning. I am vowing to myself to keep this up during the semester and to make my goal reasonable I will try to keep this up even if I have to do it at night before bed. Here's an easy and comfortable video for all levels to follow along with.

It's even more fun if you do it with a furry friend. Boone partook in yoga with me the other morning by sitting by my face and giving me reassuring licks.

We had snow dumped on us thanks to Grayson and even though it is freezing cold, the nuggets just love going outside. In order to stay warm here are some of my cold weather essentials I have been living in. I have been living in my Hunter boots as well as these SmartWool socks. They may not be cute but I wear my SmartWool long underwear under everything. Yes, it makes you feel a bit bulkier but I ride in these under my breeches so it's really not that bad. They are pricey but so worth it. I have been living in and loving my Love Your Melon Cuffed Beanie. My one and only complaint is that I have a small head and these beanie's are one size fits all so it is a bit big on my and I have to push it up. The quality is great and they look so good on so I sacrifice because there is nothing I can do about the size of my head. They do have Knit Headbands now so I may give one of those a go! I am really loving these Pom Beanie's as well but they always seem to be sold out so grab one if you get the chance!

Hope you all have had a wonderful week!

Jouer Lip Crème Review And Thoughts

If you read my last Friday Favorites then you are already aware about how I feel about Jouer's Lip Crème's
Spoiler alert, they are my favorite liquid lipstick.

What makes Jouer Lip Crème so great? Let's break it down.
1) The pigmentation is fabulous. One swipe and I get total opacity.
2) Wear time. Jouer's Lip Crème's all lasts about 8 hours on me even if I've been eating.
3) Comfortability. These are the most comfortable liquid lipsticks that I own. The only one that is close is my Kat Von D liquid lipstick (which I love!). Not once have I ever felt that my lips were dry or uncomfortable PLUS I do not feel that they settle into my lip lines in any type of obvious way.

I have four colors: Lychee, Tawny Rose, Dulche de Leche, and Petale de Rose.
I only have four colors so I cannot speak for the entire line, but I originally started with Lychee and Tawny Rose and loved them so much that I picked up Dulche de Leche and Petale de Rose and they have performed just as well as my first two.

L to R: Lychee, Tawny Rose, Petale de Rose, and Dulche de Leche.

I have not gotten adventurous with these as you can see by the nude selection. Reason being is because I wear these all the time and while I am a sucker for a good red, I can't get away with it as a student in the hospital so nude's it is! I will say that I also have two of Jouer's High Pigmentation Lip Glosses (holy moly I will talk about those in another post) and I have Bond, which is a gorgeous red!

Top: Lychee, Tawny Rose
Bottom: Dulche de Leche, Petale de Rose

Jouer Long-Wear Lip Crème's retail for $18 a piece and are totally worth it in my opinion. I purchased all 4 myself and plan on getting more!

If you are a liquid lipstick junkie and you haven't tried these out, I would highly suggest you give them a go. If liquid lipstick isn't your thing, the High Pigmentation Lip Glosses are phenomenal and their Lip Toppers add a fun touch to any look!

What is your favorite liquid lipstick? Let me know!
If any of you all are in the path of this snow storm like I am, I hope you all are staying warm and safe!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like...The End Of Christmas Break

Happy New Year and happy 2018!
I have few complaints about last year (except for my car, but that's a different story), and I have a feeling that 2018 is going to be a good year - I mean, I'm graduating again and will soon be a registered nurse!
We'll get to that and graduate school later this year. In the meantime, let me tell you a little bit about my Christmas break. I can tell you that it is certainly going by way too quickly, but I have made the most of it.

Like I said in my recent Friday Favorites, I definitely enjoyed some food ice cream!
First of all, I found a rolled ice cream place and couldn't pass it up since I've been drooling over all of the Facebook videos. So I went twice!
Behold the S'mores and Cookie Monster rolled ice cream.

I continued my ice cream trend when I went to celebrate my good friends gender reveal party. First the ice cream...
Literally the best thing I have had in a while.

Second, lets talk about the gender reveal party that Logan and I managed to scrap together (we're both in nursing school and the party happened right after finals). Thankfully Mitzi had done a hunk of stuff on her own time and that was incredibly helpful.

Logan and I were the one's who were entrusted with the secret...shhh
In case you are wondering Mitzi and her husband are having a boy!

I don't get to see Mitzi much so I went to visit a few days before the gender reveal party and partook in fun in the form of ugly sweater trivia at a local winery.

Nick had to work for the majority of my break but we both spent time visiting our parents and even had a night to go to dinner.

I know they are hard to read but our shirts say Lit up like a christmas tree. It's the only time of the year that I can get Nick to wear matching outfits.

I am so very sad that Christmas is over and I am lamenting about the fact that I have to wait a whole year to experience Christmas again.

I also hate to report that I was a total blob on New Year's Eve. Nick and I had plans to go out to dinner (potentially) and a brewery and ring in the New Year but I did not feel good so our night consisted of take out and both of us falling asleep on the couch before midnight. Far cry from last years New Years Eve which was spent in New York.

As I gear up for school again and hopefully very exciting news, I wanted to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to you all! I hope you had a good time and maybe, just maybe, did something much more exciting than I did for New Years.
