First Impression: Klēn Brand

Recently on a beach trip with some good friends, we headed to Beaufort for the afternoon/evening to shop and eat! We stumbled into the cutest shop, Beaufort Linen Company, and I happened upon glosses and lip balm. After further inspection (and lots of smelling) I just had to buy a gloss and balm and try them out!

I picked up the pink grapefruit gloss and champagne balm.

The gloss and balm come in seven flavors: champagne, pink grapefruit, lemonade, vanilla orange, strawberry mint, vanilla lavender, and mint.
I have to admit that I am hooked on the pink grapefruit, especially for the summer. It is such a refreshing scent! The champagne is definitely more subdued and was very popular because the champagne gloss was sold out.

The gloss is a clear gloss that I just love to throw on. I apply the gloss all the time. I have fairly pigmented lips and a little clear gloss is so nice on my regular makeup days. Plus the scent is to die for so I constantly want to put it on.

The gloss has a nice doe foot applicator, which makes for easy application.

The balm is incredibly moisturizing and wears nicely on the lips. I will definitely be picking more up.
Both products are made with all natural ingredients so no worries if your little one/pet gets a hold of it. After all, that is why the company was started. Check out their story here.

Klēn Brand offers lip scrubs, lotions, body scrubs, products for men, etc.

If you have some free time you may want to check them out!

*Disclaimer: I purchased these products and was not at all contacted by Klēn brand to write about their products. I am just so thrilled with the gloss and balm that I bought and felt the need to share!

Friday

Friday Favorites!

Welcome to another addition of Friday Favorites! I know I have fallen off the band wagon for a bit...There's been a lot going on.
Today I am linking up with Karli, Amanda, Christina, and Tif!

1/ Favorite Workout

It's been all about the arms lately! I feel as if my arms are neglected because I get so focused on my butt and legs. Here's to more arm workouts! Oh, and this one will hurt.

2/ Favorite Song

Loving the song Heathens by Twenty-One Pilots

3/ Favorite Photo

I decided not to bombard you all, though I really wanted to. I FINALLY received all of my photos and they are gorgeous! While it may have taken longer than planned to receive all of my images, I can definitely say that it was worth the wait.

4/ Favorite Moment

I recently got to spend some time with some wonderful friends that I don't get to see often! We decided to have a short girls trip to the beach but it was fun none the less!

P.S. I snagged this NWT Vineyard Vines dress from Dress for $86!

5/ Funnies

Me trying to 'patiently' wait during Remi's recovery.

When Nick called and told me he accepted a wonderful job offer. It's been a long time in the making, people.

When I keep getting asked to change my work hours or take on more hours at the last minute.

When Nick tells me that he's going to take me out to dinner.

See you next time!

Wednesday

Makeup Eraser: First Impression!

Months ago my dad gave me some goodies when I came home to visit and one of those goodies was the Makeup Eraser
I was very skeptical and tucked the bright pink towel into a drawer where it sat for a long long time. I couldn't bring myself to stray from my Say Yes to Cucumber makeup wipes but the day finally came. I ran out of makeup remover pads and pulled out the Makeup Eraser in hopes that it would get my full face of makeup off.

Low and behold...it works!

I'm not going to lie. I totally viewed the Makeup Eraser as a glorified wash cloth and it may be but the sucker removes my makeup including my waterproof liner and all of my mascara!

They recommend that you wash it before your first use and you can wash it anytime that you consider it to be dirty enough.

The Makeup Eraser is incredibly soft and took my makeup off with ease. I do not understand how warm water and this cloth can take off my makeup in seconds, but it does! While I love my makeup removing wipes, I am going to be reaching for my Makeup Eraser quite often!

Once done just air dry it and it's good to go the next day!

Thursday

Homemade Granola Bars!

The other day my friend Amanda and I decided to take a stab at making our own granola bars!
We really weren't sure about how they would turn out, but we ended up being so impressed with the end result that I had to share it with you all!

What you need:
+ 4 cups of whole oats
+3/4 cup raw almonds
+ 3/4 cup raw cashews
+ 1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds
+ 1 cup of dried cranberries
+1/3 cup sesame seeds
+ 1/2 cup brown sugar
+1/4 cup honey or agave
+ 2 cups dates
+ 1/2 cup coconut oil
+1 1/2 tablespoon of vanilla extract
+ 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt

Directions:
+ Place 1 1/2 cups of oats in food processor and pulse until finely ground.

+Place 2 cups of dates in food processor and blend into a paste.

+ Place the ground and remaining whole oats, nuts, seeds, and dried food into mixing bowl and mix.

+ Put brown sugar, agave/honey, date paste blend, coconut oil, vanilla, and salt in sauce pot and bring to boil. Stir constantly so that it doesn't burn.

+Once the mixture becomes soft (it'll take a good 5 minutes) pour into the large mixing bowl with nut/seed mixture.

+Mix extremely well. You may feel that you didn't use enough dates at first but keep mixing and you will be fine. Place mixture in 13x8 rimmed baking sheet that has been sprayed with pam.

Store your bars in a cool place where they don't see much light or the refrigerator! They keep for two weeks.

+Refrigerate for an hour or two and then enjoy!!

Friday

Friday Link-Ups!

Welcome back for another edition of Friday favorites! Today I am linking up with Christina for Five on Friday, Amanda for Friday Favorites, and Tif for High Five for Friday!

1// Favorite Song

Blake Shelton - Came Here To Forget
It's funny because about this time last year I was really loving Sangria by Blake so it seems fitting that I am crushing on another blake song.

2// Favorite Moment Of The Week

Visiting my baby boy! Not only did I get to see him yesterday, but he is coming home today, and the vets are thinking there is a good chance that he will recover fully!

Feed me all the carrots mom!

3// Favorite Workout!

I am loving the XHit youtube channel! They haven't made videos for a while but they have so many that it hasn't been a problem for me.

4// Favorite Find(s)

1: This Beer. It is a grapefruit beer and it's sparkling - aka it is like a beer cocktail! So good! Also, sorry for the crappy pic.

2: This Julie Brown Dress. There's a high end consignment store in Raleigh called Dress and I go anytime I get the chance because I usually walk away with some good deals! Yesterday I got my new dress, which was brand new with tags, for $86!

5// Funnies

How (I'm guessing) the vets felt after I asked about a million questions

How it feels when the dogs lick me to death

Remi's reaction when he saw me yesterday at the vet clinic

That's all she wrote! Happy Friday everyone!!
