First Impression: Smashbox Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner

It's been a little bit since I've done a first impression, but today I am back to talk to you about a new (well new for me) and exciting product!

Today I am going to give you my thoughts on Smashbox's Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner. I am a lover of eyeliner and when I saw that these little beauties sharpened themselves I had to get my hands on them. Well lo and behold, my dad surprised me with the limited edition set of liners that they did with Yago Hortal.
The unfortunate news is that the set is hard to come by (though I did find it on amazon), but you can buy most of the colors individually.

L to R: Royal, Sumatra, 3D Cleopatra, Raven, and 3D Blueprint

What I love about these is that they are soft and easy to apply, they are well pigmented, they are always sharp, and they ware well.

First of, I want to say that I am so thrilled that I finally have an eyeliner that is always sharp! Every time you twist the cap back on the liner is sharpened. Second, I can't attest to their full ware time but I did wear them to work last week for 6 1/2 hours and they still looked just as good when I got off as they did when I first applied them.

To test out the waterproof claim, I kept the swatches on my arm when I showered. Before showering I tried scrubbing them with my finger and they did not budge or transfer. In the shower I scrubbed them under the water and with soap and they were still there. The only way I got them off was when I scrubbed the swatches with a loofa.

So overall I am thoroughly impressed. The only downfall I see to these is the $20 price tag per eyeliner. If you use a lot of liner everyday these may not last long, but if you are just using it on the waterline then I think they will last you for some time.

Have any of you tried this liner? Tell me what you think!

Weekending - The Last Of July

I can't believe we have officially hit August! That means I start school in 3 weeks time and the panic is starting to become real. Scary stuff. Anyway, I am once again linking up with Biana to talk about my weekend.

Friday night was no fun because I worked until 8pm and aerial yoga didn't happen which ruffles my feathers a bit because I paid for the entire month so now I am working on getting some money back.

Saturday morning I got up early to walk the dogs and head to work. While working I had a lovely surprise visitor with coffee in hand! Yes, Nick came to visit me at work and brought me Starbucks! He is the best.
Wonderful delicious coffee.

That night Nick took me to dinner where I enjoyed beer, food, and cheesecake.

Mmm all the goodness.

On Sunday I was suppose to go get my hair done but that ended up not working out so I stayed home and went grocery shopping (no fun) and cleaned the house (also not fun).
That afternoon I watched the Blowing Rock Charity horse show live stream and was sad that I once again had to miss it this year. Then I lounged around the house, painted my nails, and Boone and I 'helped' assemble my desk chair.

This is how we helped, lol.

The rest of the evening was quiet and uneventful, until...I was awoken at 4:30 AM because the dogs had to go outside. I guess that's one way to be awoken on a Monday morning!

How was your weekend?

Friday

Hello Friday!!

I cannot believe that we are saying goodbye to July this weekend and hello to August. While I am excited to start classes, now that August is looming over my head I am starting to realize how busy I am going to be and am hoping these next few weeks go by slowly!
Today I am linking up with Amanda, Christina, and Karli.

Favorite Workout Song

I am always looking for songs that pump me up during my workouts and this one does just that!

Favorite Workout

Well I wouldn't say that this is my favorite workout but I know circuit workouts are super good to incorporate into your exercise routine. If you want to switch up your workouts a bit (like I decided to do at 6M this morning...may have been a bad decision) then try a circuit workout! This isn't exactly what we did in kickboxing this morning but it's close!

Nordstrom Anniversary Crushes That Are Still Available!

There is still time to snatch up goodies from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale1 These are some items that I am crushing on that I someone skipped over during early access and they no longer have it in my size. These jeans are everything I want in a jean - my size keeps popping up and disappearing so I am keeping my eye on these. These hunter boots. I hummed and hawed about them because I already have a pair of the original hunter boots so I didn't get them but wish I did. During the early access I attempted to buy the Rails plaid shirt in cranberry but after ordering it I was notified that the they couldn't fulfill my request. I ended up snagging this one instead and it's still available in all sizes! I have a Burberry Jacket but I do LOVE this one. Added this to my cart but already have a coat from a previous anniversary sale.

Crushes

These laptop cases! This phone case. They are so expensive and that's what has kept me from buying one, but it is beautiful.
I have always wanted a Lime Crime liquid lipstick and I think I might bite the bullet to get this gorgeous shade!
These new liquid eyeliners from Too Faced have an awesome color range and I want to try them out!

What I Got From The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

If you use the internet at all then you have likely seen (a million times) that the Nordstrom Anniversary sale has been going on for a bit now. My mom is a cardholder so I was able to shop during early access, but they still cancelled one of my items - which is a bummer because I really wanted it! Thankfully, I was still able to snag quite a few goodies that I was eyeing! I haven't had a chance to try everything on yet as I have been working late everyday this week and my package just came yesterday so who knows what exactly I'll be keeping and what will be going back.
Plus what kind of blogger would I be if I didn't include my buys from the sale?!

1/2/3/4/5/6(no longer available)/7/8/9/10/11 (not available)

I have two pairs of Articles of Society Jeans and they are seriously the most comfortable jeans I own! They look great but are so soft and stretchy. I snatched up the 'Mya' and 'Sarah' skinny jeans. Unfortunately the 'Mya' Americana wash that was part of the anniversary sale is no longer available, but the 'Sarah' still is!

I have been lusting after the Love Token Vest ever since I saw it in my local Monkees last year. They sold out so fast and I couldn't get my hands on one so I am thrilled that it was part of the Anniversary sale! I just happened to stumble across it while scrolling through the pages and jumped for joy. I am a bit unsettled about the vest having actual rabbit fur so we will see how I feel about that.

The Ted Baker Layered Bow Bag is going to turn into my new cosmetic travel bag!

I have been in desperate need of new sport bras for a while now and decided to pick up some Nike ones. I loved the Zella sport bras but the plain black (so boring I know) Nike one's will work with every workout top that I have.

I usually do not order any type of swim items from the internet because lets face it...you never know how bathing suits will fit. I took the plunge and ordered the Mara Hoffman Twist Front One Piece Suit and I love it! Unfortunately it is no longer available. I also ordered the La Blanca Beaded Cover up!

The Barefoot Dreams Cozy Chic Bathrobe is SO soft and comfortable. I lounge around the house in it every time I get out of the shower. I also noticed that it is no longer included in the Anniversary sale but it is still available in select colors.

We all know that I have a boot fetish and after going through all of my Frye boots and selling the pairs that didn't fit so well, I decided that the one staple that I needed was the Melissa Button Boot and was so thrilled to see that they had it as part of the sale!! I couldn't have gotten much luckier than that.

For some basic staples I ordered the Eliza J Knit Sheath Dress that is perfect to wear while transitioning into and for fall. I picked up the Pleione Split Neck Mixed Media tunic on a whim because it looks so easy to wear and goes with so much. Reviews have now surfaced that the fit can be big so I am hoping that it will fit. I may pick up a few more of these simple but flattering tops if I am impressed with the one I got.

Monday

Weekending! A Low Key Weekend

Today I am linking up with Biana to tell you all about my weekend.

Honestly, this was a low key weekend and I am totally happy with that!
On Friday and Saturday I practiced my aerial yoga and learned some new moves!

Aerial yoga looks easy but I can tell you that it takes much more strength than I imagined. I was so sore on Sunday after doing aerial for two days in a row. My arms/shoulders are sore in places that I wasn't even aware of!

I, unfortunately, had to work on Saturday but I still was able to spend some time with my four legged companions.
Boone, Ash, Nick, and I went on our daily walks even though it is so humid, even at 8 in the morning (misery!).

Since I worked on Saturday I didn't get to ride this weekend, but I still went out to the barn with Nick and treated Remi to a spa day.

So thrilled about his bath.
Remi should be cleared to go back to work in about 3 weeks and I am very excited! Waiting is the hardest part.

On Saturday and Sunday night Nick and I grilled burgers and caesar salads. I finished the weekend off with some Dairy Queen, driving around car lots, and watching Sleepy Hollow!

How was your weekend? Was it full of adventures are did you get to relax and recharge?
