March Favs!

As I said in my Friday post, I cannot believe that March has come and gone and April is already here!
March was a good month for me and I discovered plenty of new things to love!
Let's get started.

{1} It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Palette

Part of my Birthday present from Daniel was an Ulta gift card and I spent it wisely!
I LOVE this palette. It is a matte palette with a transforming pearl shade if you are interested in making a shade a bit more frosted. The matte shades go on incredibly smooth and do not look chalky at all.

{2} MAC's Peackykeen Blush

I've had this blush for a few years now and I recently pulled it back out since we've had some warmer weather. I forgot how much I like this blush. It is such a nice spring/summer blush that gives a nice flush to the cheeks!

{3} Loreal True Match Super Blendable Crayon

Another old-y but a goody! I bought one of these when they first came out and was really impressed! I have recently been using it again and forgot how much I liked it when I first got it. You can get some in a darker shade than your skin tone and use it as a way to contour your face! I will definitely be getting a few more of these.

{4} NYX soft matte lip cream

I own a few of these and I love them. I have had no problem with them drying out my lips, they smell like a vanilla cupcake to me, and they stain my lips! They also come in a nice variety of shades!

{5} Miss Jessie's Pillow Soft Curls

I saw this stuff on Pinterest and decided to pick it up when I saw it in my local Target. I have naturally wavy hair and I like to accentuate the waves a little bit. I have had issues finding  something that will give me a little more oomf while not making my hair sticky and/or hard. I put a dab of this stuff in my hair when it is air drying and it leaves my hair feeling so soft and gives my waves a little something extra!

{6} Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Hand and Body Scrub

...If you love shower products like I do go buy this stuff! It smells SO good and leaves my skin feeling so soft. There are different scents available but I am loving this one!

{7} Rewined Candles

These natural soy candles are made in Charleston, SC are they are to die for! I am biased because I absolutely love the seasonal Mimosa scent but they have a great selection of scent like champagne, chardonnay, merlot, pinot grigio, etc!

{8} Frozen

I know, I know - I was late to jump on the bandwagon. Frozen finally hit Redbox and I snatched it up as soon as it was available. What a heartwarming movie! If you haven''t seen it...go rent it, now! :)

That is it! What have you been loving during the month of March?

Happy Monday friends!

Friday

Confession Friday

We made it to another Friday! Give yourself a huge pat on the back. If you feel anything like me this week (aka sleep deprived) then you know how hard it was to drag yourself to today!
Friday wouldn't be complete without some confessions so let's get to it!

{1} I confess that some people amaze me...and not in a good way. I was in target last night and witnessed (more than once) a mom argue with her young daughter constantly. I wish I had taken a video (not really, but so you all could fully understand). Let's just put it this way, the woman did not act like a mom and didn't dress like one either.

{2} I confess that there was a good side of target last night...our target cosmetics department is getting a makeover! Heaven. I'm obsessed with makeup anyway and now we are getting a few more brands. I think ulta should jump on this bandwagon.

{3} I confess that I cannot believe that we are almost into April. I know everyone says this at the end of each month but considering April is my last full month of the semester, I really can't believe it! This means two things: 1) That I am almost done with the semester - hooray! 2) I am going to have so much work to do in such a short amount of time - ugh.

{4} I confess that Daniels busy season is coming up. Sad days. The farmers life is not easy and sun up to sun down is fair game when the weather is nice.

{5} I confess that I don't even know if confessional Friday is happening this week but I will be participating in it regardless - cause I'm a BAMF like that.

{6} I confess that I am so excited that Vikings is going to have a 3rd season! Daniel and I love that show. The only problem is that I tend to fall asleep half way through because I am sooo tired!

{7} I confess that meal planning for the entire week is a hard task and I fail miserably at it. I have high expectations once the summer comes around but with summer class and work...Well it may not go as planned.

Music Makes My World go Round

Music is almost a form of therapy for me.
It has accompanied me on road trips, helped me cope with heartbreak, get me through a tough workout, help me relax, etc.
I am guilty of dancing around the house when alone, dancing in my underwear while getting ready in the morning, belting one out while in the shower, and put in my own private concert in my car.
Of course I'll totally pretend I'm not rocking out when I pull up next to someone...they don't need to see my awesome car dance moves - but I don't want to make them jealous of my awesome moves. Ha!

I am not picky when it comes to music. All genres will do as long as the music is enjoyable!
Music can change your entire mood and brighten your day.
If you are having a bad day, just need a little pick me up, want a new song to rock out in your undies to, or just enjoy finding new music - you may want to check some of these songs out.
Maybe you'll find one that tickles your fancy.

1) Manicure by Lady Gaga

2) Gold by Sir Sly

3) Fever by The Black Keys

4) Freaky Boyz by Nora Hilton

5) Crystallize by Lindsey Stirling

6) Shot Me Down by David Guetta and Skylar Grey

7) La la la ft. Sam Smith by Naughty Boy

These are a few I've been loving currently.
What are some songs you've really been into??

I am also linking up with Liz @ Fitness Blondie for The Hump Day Blog Hop!

The Hump Day Blog Hop

She has had an incredible fitness journey and her recipes look so good!
I definitely need to get back in the kitchen and try some out!
Go check her out!

Monday

Weddings, weddings, weddings/weekend fun

I have reached that age in my life where my friends are starting to get engaged/married.
I was never that little girl who dreamt of her wedding as soon as she came out of the womb. In fact, I was quite the tomboy. I received a motorcycle helmet for Christmas when I was younger and it was the best thing ever - but that's a story for a different time.
But now that people are getting older/married, I have to admit when my time comes I will be excited. While it is not my time to get married, it is my time to be a bridesmaid!
With that being said, I am starting to realize all of the stress and planning/plans gone wrong that are involved with weddings.

Thankfully this weekend was a low key one where the bride to be and bridesmaids got together for a Mary Kay party. We had a good time just hanging out and telling stories.
Daniel is good friends with my friends fiancĂ© so he came to visit also.
While Tyler and Daniel didn't want to join the Mary Kay party - I couldn't imagine why not! - we all had the chance to hang out afterwards and relax.
I met my friend while attending school. After school we moved to opposite sides of the state. Sad days!! Daniel and I finally had the opportunity to go visit and see their place and where my friend works.

We had such a good time that I didn't take any pictures (sorry!) and it was sad to leave. The weekend went by way too fast and I am not ready for the week but I suppose I have to be!
Anyone else have a good weekend?

Thoughts from this weekend:
Dang I'm getting old now that everyone is getting engaged.
Weddings seem horribly stressful.
They also look fun/exciting.
Why are weddings so expensive??
I wish we (Daniel and I and our friends) didn't move to opposite sides of the state.
Ugh, I have class tomorrow.

Pretty much sums up my weekend!

Lets start another week on a positive note.

Friday

Confession Friday

We survived another week! This week was a tiring one and there's still more to do this weekend!
Any fun plans this weekend? We are supposedly having fabulous weather this weekend! Sadly it may not be here to stay. Fingers crossed that we will not be getting any more winter weather.
Let's do this!
Join the link-up here.

{1} I confess that I am re-vamping my workout and eating routine. I have been successful on the workout part. The eating part is getting better. I may not of tried re-vamping all my food right before that time of the month...fail.

{2} I confess that I had a dream the other night with my little Bailey in it. After yoga that day I got a little emotional in the car when I started thinking about my dream. I miss my little fluffer so much.

{3} I confess that as much as I moaned/complained/hated studying over Spring Break that it is safe to say that it has paid off! It was a stressful week with the test and practical but I am happy that it turned out so well.

{4} I confess that I do not grocery shop well. I always think that I do a good job (I do get things that I need!) but then dinner rolls around and kabam! I suddenly have nothing to put together.

{5} I confess that I liked getting my feet rubbed but I do not like rubbing/touching anyone's feet. I shouldn't receive without giving but I just don't like touching feet. I really won't complain if Daniel wants to rub mine though!

{6} I confess that I can never seem to get all of the laundry done. Literally there is always something on the bottom that doesn't fit so it continues to stay on the bottom as more dirty clothes get piled on top. Ever wander where those yoga pants you haven't seen for a bit are? They are chilling with the lost souls of the laundry bin.

{7} I confess that I feel accomplished this morning. I went to the gym, did some studying, took the dogs on a walk, tidied up the house - all before class! Phew!

Happy Friday and have a fantastic weekend! And if you are having some nice weather get out and enjoy it!

Wednesday

Things That Irk Me

Recently I have been a bit stressed out with school and the stress may be making me slightly irritable.
Therefore it has made me more in-tune with the things that drive me nuts :)

- the nuggets mutilated Chester. Who is Chester? The cutest little stuffed animal ever! Ash attempted to kill him but thankfully Chester is still with us.

- When people take your parking spot even though you've been sitting there with your blinker on. Is common courtesy non existent now??

- speaking if turn signals...why do people not use them? I would like to know whether or not you are turning so that I can go ahead and pull out.

- Shen people don't hold the door for you. If I/another person is a good distance away, don't worry about it. If I am right there however why not hold it?

- people who don't smile back. It takes more muscles to frown!

- when my phone decides to quit life and die when I, supposedly, have 16% battery left

- when I forget snacks and am stuck on campus without one. I am a foodie, what can I say? :)

- the weather. Let's not talk about it.

I try to remember that it's okay if things annoy me from time to time (we all have our cranky moments!) as long as I don't let these things overcome me!
So what gets on your nerves?  No judgement here!

Happy Wednesday! Even if you are cranky/annoyed about something today remember that we are halfway through the week!

Sunday

It's The Little Things

With all the negativity and rudeness we seem to experience on a regular basis it can be hard to remember how much small acts of kindness can touch a person. When I was young my parents made sure to teach me manners - "excuse me, yes please, no thanks, etc." I know that there are plenty of good people still out there but I also seem to run into the type who don't say "I'm sorry" or "excuse me" because they are in a hurry and frankly that is the last thing on their mind. I am not saying that these people are bad - I understand that everyone has bad days - but it is annoying when you know that you would be more polite in said situation.
So what is my point of all of this? Small acts of kindness - do something kind for someone this week if you get the chance!

Yesterday Daniel and I let someone coming from the opposite direction into the Starbucks line. The guy behind us beeped at Daniel because of this. When we pulled up to the window the Starbucks employee informed us that our drinks had already been paid for by the guy that we let in line. Definitely made my cold rainy Sunday brighter!

Another example of kind gestures that I wasn't expecting but totally appreciated. At the end of last semester I went to the library to study in between classes and all of the single cubbies were full. I noticed one girl was packing up to leave. I also noticed another girl standing across from me in the book stacks who was also eagerly awaiting for the cubby. We looked at each other and I told her to go ahead and sit down because I saw a table with enough room that I wouldn't be crammed next to people. A few minutes later there was a tap on my shoulder and the girl who was also waiting for the original cubby had gotten up and come over to me just to tell me that the cubby behind hers was now vacant. I really appreciated it because I preferred to have my own space to study rather than a table with multiple people and appreciated her coming over to me and letting me know when she didn't even have to.

In our busy schedules we tend to overlook the little things like being super polite all of the time or paying a random act of kindness forward. If you have the opportunity try to complete a little act of kindness - you may brighten a strangers or family members day! Is someone close to you super stressed? Offer to swing by and drop off dinner, pick up one of their favorite desserts, etc.

Motivation Monday!!

P.S. I know this is totally off topic but I feel compelled to post this wonderful/slightly cruel thing I discovered at  Fresh Market this weekend - Edible Cookie Dough

Why?!?!?!?! It looks so good. It comes in three flavors: chocolate chip, Oreo, and monster...
I have managed to keep it out of the house thus far but it is haunting me.

Happy Monday!

Friday

Confession Friday! A Link-Up That Didn't Quite Work Out This Week

It's Friday!! This week is a little different and I am actually sad that it is Friday because that means I have to start class again on Monday.
Besides me complaining about class, lets get to the confessions for this week!
This link-up is hosted by Leslie at A Blonde Ambition. It didn't quite work out today but go check out Leslie's blog and I had this post ready to go so you guys can read my confessions anyway!

{1} I confess that I am not ready to start classes again. I have enjoyed my week off and would like to have some more time off, please!

{2} I confess that leaving the island was hard. There were so many more things to explore/do and I am saddened that we missed out - but am also thankful of all the things we did manage to do!

{3} I confess that it was so nice to see my mom for almost an entire week. I think her and my dad need to move closer in the near-ish future. (*hint hint wink wink* if you're reading this mom!)

{4} I confess that Daniel, my mom, and I went to Chef and the Farmer for dinner last night. Daniel and I went before to celebrate a special occasion and fell in love - naturally we had to take my mom. Last night didn't let us down!

Yum!

{5} I confess that I may have a new favorite quote:
It's very relevent to my life at the moment and it is always a good reminder.

{6} I confess that my mom cleaned my kitchen while she was here. Thanks mom :) I let it get a little out of control when I had limited time before break.

{7} I confess that I miss reading. I use to read all the time and then high school hit and my class load hasn't ceased since then. I really need to get back into it and find a good book. Any suggestions? I'll read just about anything!

That is it for this week! I hope everyone has a great day and has some nice R&R to look forward to this weekend :)

Wednesday

One Wild Adventure

The last two days of vacation have been pretty nice! Tonight is our last night, well for my mom and I. Daniel left for the house today.
Yesterday we took the ferry/drove into Wilmington and did some shopping. Well I didn't have such a successful trip but the nuggets, Daniel, and my mom were successful!
We got the nuggets some new colors that they needed desperately! My little boys are growing up.
We ate lunch in Wilmington and came across this great little restaurant.

 My mom's Crepe

Build your own salad creation!

Dark Chocolate Mousse - heaven!!

Today we stayed on the island and had a few mishaps but it was still a great day overall. Daniel and I started our day by taking the nuggets to the dog park and then promptly proceeded to have our golf cart run out of battery. Yep, it was great. So Daniel pushed the golf cart back to the house while I steered and kept the nuggets in the seat.

Daniel dying/pushing the cart :)

After that incident we picked up my mom, checked out the turtle conservatory, the other side of the island, and the light house.

We took the second golf cart out and about while the other charged only to relive the nightmare all over again and coast as the golf cart was dying and we desperately tried to make it home! Thankfully this time we did :) Barely, but we made it.

Tonight we went to dinner before Daniel headed home so that he can work tomorrow. My mom and I are planning on doing a little shopping in the morning and then we will be headed towards my house also.

I hope everyone has enjoyed their Wednesday!

Monday

Lets Get Away

I just wanted to say a quick hello!
I am currently on 'break', but not really because I am studying, and am at the beach! We are on a little island and it is absolutely wonderful. We managed to make the trek last night and have been enjoying the day.

We did have one fun moment where we arrived too late last night and everything, food wise, was closed. No dinner for us! The nuggets were happy because they got to eat but Daniel, my mom, and I ate the last granola bar and called it a day!
This morning we did boring things like make our way to the market and buy groceries.
Daniel and I went to the gym and checked out the beach.
We also took the nuggets to the dog park on the island and they absolutely loved it!
I am hitting up some stores with my mom later today and then studying while Daniel cooks us some yummy lemon chicken on the grill :)
I will be sure to take lots and lots of pictures and plan on having a post up on Wednesday. If I do not, please forgive me and I will be sure to bombard you with pictures galore on Thursday.

Pre-beach Starbucks run. With all the stress and tiredness running rampant - I picked up some Starbucks before the funeral and beach packing extravaganza. We may be addicted to caffeine. Just might be...

Ahhh can I just stay here??

Confession Friday Link-up

Join the link-up here!

{1} I confess that I don't know what to wear anymore because of this weather. We have literally had every season in the span of a week. I'm ready for some consistency!

{2} I confess that this week has been a bit rough class wise and Daniel's family lost a grandparent. I know there's a light at the tunnel though!

{3} I confess that I am so happy that I start spring break later today. Though I am not happy that I have to teach myself an entire A&P chapter during break.

{4} I confess that Ash and I have had a strained relationship these past few days. If you have to poop you go to the door. How is that so difficult?! The other nugget does it perfectly!

{5} I confess that I am getting a massage today as a B-day present and I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to it!

{6} I confess that I am starting my summer job hunt today. Wish me luck!

{7} I confess that I am thinking about switching my gym routine around. I use to wake up and go early - it felt great and made feel as if I accomplished a lot before 8AM. Lets see if I can do it again!

Happy Friday everyone!!

Wednesday

Sticks and Stones May Break my Bones...

Remember this saying?
Life Fact: Words that are said and words that are not said will hurt you.
Unfortunately we encouter this phenomenon in everyday life with classmates, teachers, family/extended family, friends, coworkers, etc.
First:
Truth. Of course people want to be liked by everyone they meet but this just isn't reality.
Now there is a difference between not becoming great friends with someone because you just don't click/have that much in common versus disliking someone because of your own shortcomings.
This is what I seem to have encountered throughout the years and I know I will encounter it again.

Envy and immaturity.
I have witnessed friends 'dislike' someone because they were envious of the other person having a boyfriend or getting a job first. What???
Don't get me wrong, I have had moments of envy and immaturity- we are only human - but don't let this get in the way of how you feel about someone.
You should be happy that such and such got a job promotion because the girl worked her butt off to get it, not suddenly dislike her because she moved up the ranks before you did.
You're having relationship problems? Don't project your negative energy towards someone else. If there is a problem, fix it. Such and such seems to have such a perfect relationship and yours is crumbling before your eyes? Well don't hate such and such because they have nothing to do with your relationship.

This became a harsh reality for me when I started having room mate troubles and watched other friends have room mate issues. You learn a lot in college, huh?? Did we all play a role in the entire story? Yep. None of us did everything right and none of us did anything that wrong - the trouble stemmed from how people handled it and conveyed their feelings.

A theme started appearing. Were people mad at each other? Of course. But was that the real problem? No. The problem stemmed from insecurities/issues in that persons personal life.
Should we create/blow problems out of proportion with other people just to make ourselves feel better.
A bit fat no.

So here is what I'm trying to say. People will be envious and immature. They will create rumors/drama/problems because they can and it may make them feel better for the time being. Is that going to fix whatever problem is going on in their life? Nope. Since that problem is out of control they will create another problem that they can control - but don't let them by ignoring the things that don't matter. If the time comes, you can kindly confront someone. Don't be a door matt but, also, don't create any other unnecessary drama because a person put you down. Be happy with yourself and your choices.

On the other hand, envy and immaturity will also strike us and we may have these feelings towards another. Try to take a step back and remember to deal with whatever is going on in your life appropriately and not to bring others down just to make yourself feel better. We won't be perfect at achieving this - but do try! I have to remind myself of this when I've had a bad day or witnessed a person who has not been the kindest to me achieve something. Reach out and say "congratulations." You don't have to be all buddy buddy and hang out all of the sudden - just be kind.

This all stemmed because recently someone who I know intentionally didn't say something to me and it hurt my feelings. At first I was upset (don't get me wrong - it's allowed to hurt!), but I know what is going on in this persons life and where the problem is actually stemming from. It is not really a reflection of how this person feels about me. It's a reflection of other problems that this person cannot control very well. And then I started reminiscing about my good and bad days with my room mates, one year, and how we all did the exact same thing that I am currently experiencing with this other person.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Monday

February Favorites!

How is it already March? March is a good month for me because I am part way through the semester, my Birthday is this month, and Daniel and I celebrate our anniversary this month!

Anyway, here are some of the things I have been loving in February!

MAC Tan pigment. I am still hopelessly in love with BareMinerals Nude Beach but I discovered Tan pigment last year and pulled it out for the first time this year. I love this color during the summer! It's good for anytime of the year but I think it just makes your eyes glow in the summer. Just pat it all over your lid, blend, and you are good to go! It also looks great with some black liner :)

Garnier's Oil Free BB Cream. This is such a great BB cream and for such a great price. A little goes a long way and it gives nice coverage. I spritz with some Urban Decay All Nighter and this stuff doesn't budge!

Milani Matte Blush in Delizioso Pink (on the right). This blush is great. The pigmentation is great and the blush is build able. If you are a sucker for a soft pink pigmented blush then I would check this one out!

Essie Splash of Grenadine. So I may have bought this color the last day of February, but I am in love. - so it counts as a February favorite, right?! :)

Nivea Kiss of Olive Oil and Lemon...I bought this in the middle of the month and I may or may not be half way through the tube. The smell is so refreshing! I liked it so much that I bought Kiss of Milk and Honey also. I will let you know how that is :)

Argo Tea.
Oh my gosh - true love! The Carolina Honey and Hibiscus Tea Sangria = pure bliss! They are not overwhelmingly tea flavored so even if you don't like 'tea' I would suggest you try one of these!\

Time to crush another Monday! Here is the motivational quote for the week:

“One of the most important keys to Success is having the discipline to do what you know you should do, even when you dont feel like doing it.” - Unknown
